# File app and controlling mode/permissions

Appears the mode of directories and files have a default mask of 0022 and file app ignores users umask setting. Also there doesn’t appear to be a way to control file permission via webui. Open terminal and interactive session and manage via it, just not via webui.

Is there a setting I should enable to allow user to edit file permission via webui? Is there a plan to adding this functionality if not controlled vai setting currently?
