Debug logs for sessions or switch to different user?

Hi,

We have open-ondemand3.0 installed for our SLURM cluster. There are two users that are having weird issues with their sessions. For the first, sessions terminates out-of-the-blue without any errors. output.log shows the following:

(xfwm4:1863613): xfwm4-WARNING **: 13:37:15.209: Missing data from default files
Setting VNC password...
Generating connection YAML file...
+ echo 'App ended.'
App ended.
Cleaning up...
Killing Xvnc process ID 1863565

For the other user, a running session freezes seconds after launching it.

I can’t see any errors in output.log and vnc.log and haven’t been able to reproduce the issue. Was wondering if there’s any way to enable debug logs for the sessions so I can see more details of what’s going on behind the scenes?

Furthermore, I see from https://discourse.openondemand.org/t/switch-to-different-user-in-ood that it isn’t possible to start a session as another user. Was wondering if that’s still the case?

Lastly, is there a chance these issues would potentially get resolved if I upgrade to open-ondemand4?

Please let me know,

Thanks,

Please let me know,

Cheers,

I doubt there’s any change in OnDemand 4.

The first issue seems like maybe the user pressed logout or something similar? Users can stop the window manager themselves to get this behavior. That’s at least a theory, not necessarily what happened for sure.

Maybe it’s a browser issue? Have they tried different browsers?
