Brief survey on VR/AR devices and research computing: https://go.osu.edu/ood-survey

Colleagues:

The Open OnDemand project team (openondemand.org) and NVIDIA (nvidia.com) have been collaborating for many years on improvements and additions to the Open OnDemand platform to facilitate research computing providers ability to meet the needs of their clients.

In recent years, consumer level virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) devices have become widely adopted in many fields and sectors, including entertainment, healthcare, and education. Amongst the most common devices are those from Oculus, HTC, Microsoft, and Sony.

The Open OnDemand and NVIDIA teams are considering some VR/AR software development work that will provide new user interfaces via Open OnDemand to research computing resources (e.g. high performance computing / HPC, storage, etc). We would like to get an understanding of whether any such interfaces already exist and what the potential interest from clients are in such interfaces.

This survey (https://go.osu.edu/ood-survey) only has a small handful of questions and most people should be able to complete it in about a minute. If you provide your email address at the end of the survey we can share with you the final results. Thanks for your response!
