As many of you know, the Open OnDemand dev team has been targeting this week to issue release 4.2, which has a primary focus of being fully compliant with the digital accessibility standards required by the US Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
In particular, there was a deadline of April 24th, 2026 that many academic / government entities faced to be compliant with. Over the weekend, the US Department of Justice decided to push back the deadline back 1 year, to April 24th, 2027 (see https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/2026/04/20/2026-07663/extension-of-compliance-dates-for-nondiscrimination-on-the-basis-of-disability-accessibility-of-web )
While the team does have a version 4.2 release candidate available, during testing at OSC we’ve found a few issues with it we’d like to correct. In addition, a CVE was disclosed to us over the past weekend that we’d like to patch.
Thus, in light of all of the above, we are planning to push the release date for 4.2 back 2-3 weeks into mid May. We expect to make it available by the end of the week of May 10th.
