Please help the Open OnDemand team by adding your institutional affiliation and name to your Discourse profile

Open OnDemand Community:

As you likely know, the main OOD development is currently funded via an award from the National Science Foundation (NSF). Part of the award objectives are to grow the overall community, and the only way for us to demonstrate that to NSF is to collect details on the community.

If you’ve ever attended or listened to any of the numerous webinars we hold, you’ve likely heard me plead for people to let us know if your institution is using OOD and isn’t already on the list we post to the main openondemand.org website.

We’ve realized that it’s not just production installs that are important for us to report, but also general community engagement, such as participation in this Discourse message board. As such, I have a simple request that will only take a few seconds of your time, but will greatly help with the long term sustainability of the project:

Please add your institutional affiliation and/or actual name to your Discourse profile. It’s very easy to do:

  1. Login to discourse.osc.edu

  2. Click on the circle with your profile letter / picture in the upper right to open a popup menu, then click on the rightmost little person icon to open your preferences tab, finally click on the preferences line with the little gear icon.

  3. On the resulting account page, you can add your name under the Name field (be sure to click the Save Changes button at the bottom).

  4. Click on the Profile option on the left menu to see the Institutional Affiliation field (and be sure to click the Save Changes button at the bottom again).

Thanks in advance for doing this, as it will really help us demonstrate the breadth of the community and impact Open OnDemand is having!
