Emacs shortcuts colliding with browser ones

Maybe the question is not super-specific to OnDemand, and maybe more for noVNC, but I am sure many people here have users who experience(d) this issue, so maybe there is a better solution than the “changing emacs or browser settings” which I’ve found elsewhere.

The problem is that when running a remote desktop in Open OnDemand the ctrl mappings for the browser take precedence, e.g. ctrl-N opens a new browser window rather than doing whatever it’s supposed to do in emacs.

How do people deal with that?

I think it’s a noVNC issue - though I don’t know how to resolve it. There are buttons on the left hand panel that could potentially work - but I don’t know that for certain.
