The shell app still doesn't work in OOD 3.1.10

Dear developers,

In our environment with Apache 2.4.37-56 for EL8, some passenger applications did not work in OOD 3.1.9, so we downgraded to OOD 3.1.7. Please see following tickets.

Today I upgraded OOD 3.1.10 because it supports our environment. However, we had the exact same problems above.

Do you know any reason why?

P.S. The reason we use Apache 2.4.37-56 in our environment is because we are using the latest Red Hat EUS (Extended Update Support) package.

That is unfortunate news. No I’m not sure why that doesn’t work for you. We (OSC) also run Apache 2.4.37-56 in our environment so I’m not sure why it wouldn’t work for you.

The patches we made in 3.1.9 and above were to support higher apache versions. Obviously this did not go as well as I would have liked.

It’s clear that the updates we broke your system, I’m just not sure how because I can’t replicate. That said, I’ll redouble my efforts to look into this and see if there’s something we can do for all systems.

Are there any updates related to release 3.1.10 and the shell issue?

Preparing to upgrade here from 3.1.7 on one system, and 3.1.9 on the other.

It appears to relate to the OS version. apache from the 8.8 EL repositories seem to work when apache from EL 8.4 repositories are broken.

I’ve been bogged down trying to ship 4.0, so I haven’t gotten a chance to find & backport any potential fix.
