There is one user that has a laggy VNC session, terminal is very slow to type in. We have tried clearing their OoD /home folder and starting new, different machines/networks/locations, changed compression/quality settings. Any ideas on what it could be?
If it was a global problem that would be easier but it’s one user.
Yeah I’m not too sure either but it sounds like something unique to the user. Have you looked on the compute node the session is running on using ssh and tried to see if anything is eating up memory for that user using something like top?
Another thing you might try is to have them run this without a .bashrc file as maybe they have something set that is slowing things down somehow on the compute node.
The only other data I can think to look at would be to see if you see a difference between a working vnc.log and this user’s vnc.log in the session data after the jobs launch:
