Is there a way to install and change the default font used by the shell app? I would like to install a powerline font to allow something like fancy-git to properly display the custom icons it uses to display the status of your git repository.

I don’t believe so, though it may work out of the box, unless you tried it already. I know I use emojis in my PS1 so I know there’s support for byte data. But I don’t believe there’s an easy way to change the fonts.
