OOD 1.8 OOD_SSHHOST_ALLOWLIST failure page

This is more curiosity than anything, and it could be I missed something in the release notes. When I click on a link in interactive jobs that should open an ssh session on a compute node, AND the node name does not match OOD_SSHHOST_ALLOWLIST, I get a page with
Failed to establish a websocket connection. Be sure you are using a browser that supports websocket connections
in red. While an error is totally appropriate in that case, this is a bit cryptic. Is there any way to get a “permission denied” or something similar?
